The head of the Organizing committee of the project, Natalia Koter (Livshitc), has been running cultural projects on intercultural communications for about 15 years.

Born in St. Petersburg in 1971, she resides in Poland since 2018, that is why Polish culture and Polish artists make a special impact on the project’s development.
Natalia Koter managed to form a brilliant international jury board for fashion and art contests that involved many talented fashion designers and artists from many countries of the world.

Initially, she received a legal education, but then her personal interests and hobbies related to art grew into something more and forced her to leave legal practice and begin organizing cultural events — this opened the beginning of a 20-year-long journey.

She has about 50 successful cultural projects, primarily related to the dialogue of cultures, and although the main focus of her activity is fashion in the context of ethnic connotations, Natalia also used to produce theater performances, dance and jazz festivals.

Her main brainchild is the ETNOMODA festival, International Baltic Ehnic Fashion Festival, abbreviated as IBEFF.

Exploring national heritage of their cultures, many artists and designers were inspired to join IBEFF ETNOMODA to share their creations with audience of the Festival.

Gradually, with the growing involvement of international participants and an increasing number of countries, it was decided to create a new resource — ETNOMODA.EU that would correspond to the spirit of the project and to the center of vital interests of the project leader herself, Natalia Koter, and that’s why the site is relatively a fresh initiative, meanwhile the history of the project itself goes back many years.

Natalia Koter’s interests are varied, ranging from ballroom dancing, Argentine tango (participation in dance competitions and organizing dance festivals was an important milestone in her creative life), and ending with her activities as a lecturer in areas related to intercultural communications, organization of fashion shows, and algorithms for practical research in the fashion industry.

Since 2020 Natalia is a jury member of the Global Design Graduate Show, international project run by the «Arts Thread» organization.

During her stay in Poland, Natalia Koter managed to establish relationships with the organizers of the Textile Fair in Warsaw, outline plans for further cooperation, and also took part in the work of Krakow Fashion Week as a jury member in 2020.

Interest in Polish designers, especially young talents, does not leave Natalia Koter in Poland. For example, she is eager to interview Polish fashion graduates and mature artists in order to popularize their work among an audience that has been formed throughout the festival history.

Her leave stream with outstanding Polish artist, NesPoon, in 2021, or recent interview with fashion graduate of MSKPU is a part of her activity in the way of exploring intercultural communications.

Interviews, organising events, and being in jury of international contests, and other initiatives like these, are aimed at ensuring that creative people from different countries learn more about each other’s activities and, first of all, about the activities of talented young people from the country that has become Natalia’s home in recent years.

Over time, your business may not just become your brainchild, but outgrow you and acquire independent value and a separate life. This is what a successful project is.
